Privacy and your personal information:
The privacy and security of your personal information is important to us, and is protected by law. We need to collect this information so we can provide Advocacy services to you. We only share your information with other parties where you have specifically agreed, or where the law allows
or requires it.
The type of personal information we collect:
The main reason we collect your personal information is to respond to your enquiry and then advocate upon your behalf. To enable us to do this we may collect your personal contact details, health information, and any other personal information provided by you.
How we collect personal information:
Whenever possible we only collect personal information directly from you. We may also collect personal information about other individuals indirectly because it is collected in a communication with us. Some examples of how we collect personal information include (but not limited to): directly from individuals during telephone calls, and when information is entered in one of our online forms or in an email to us.
Storage and Security:
We handle the security of your personal information in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles and this Privacy Policy. Generally the personal information we collect electronically is stored on a secured network consistent with industry standards. This network has restricted access solely to our Advocate, Bob Harrap. Any physical documentation is stored securely in locked filing cabinets and when no longer needed such documentation is immediately and appropriately destroyed.
It should be noted, however, that it may be necessary for us to retain personal information to comply with our legal obligations, or for insurance and/or audit processes.
Use and Disclosure of personal information:
We use the personal information we collect primarily to provide advocacy services to clients and conduct National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Appeals. To provide our advocacy services we may, in a confidential manner, share relevant personal information with organisations that you have requested we contact, or that are otherwise involved in the matter that you are seeking assistance with.
Our role in relation to NDIS Appeals is to support and assist people seeking to review decisions of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
In order to perform these tasks we may confidentially share your information with the NDIA or any other organisation that you have requested we contact on your behalf. This will only occur where permitted under the Australian Privacy Principles and with your consent. Where necessary we may also use your personal information to enable us to comply with our obligations under the law. Sharing information to prevent serious threat or harm is a requirement of Jeniro Consulting per related policies and procedures, legislation, standards and guidelines.
Accessing and Updating your personal information:
You can seek access to the personal information we hold about you at any time simply by emailing such a request.
By way of a similar email process you can also seek to update and/or correct any of the personal information we hold about you which you believe is inaccurate or outdated.
Privacy Complaint:
Should you have any concerns about the use of your personal information then you can email us with details of those concerns and we shall then prioritise attempting to resolve the issue with you.
